OMEGA's Neeraj Chopra and Guido Migliozzi Connect Golf and Athletics Through Precision

At the fifth OMEGA Trophy in Gurugram, Neeraj Chopra and Guido Migliozzi, both OMEGA Sports Ambassadors, spoke with Outlook Luxe about what the brand's partnerships mean to their careers. Their answers focused on consistency, timing and the shared language of precision that links watchmaking with elite sport.

A partnership begun before Paris

Chopra said he joined OMEGA in May 2024, just weeks before the Paris Olympic Games, and described the move as a recognition of his career achievements, including his gold medal from Tokyo 2020. He called himself the first Indian track and field athlete to represent the brand, a distinction he hopes will encourage younger athletes in a country better known for cricket and hockey.

Timing, precision and the Olympic connection

Chopra linked OMEGA's role as Olympic Timekeeper, a position it has held since 1932, to his own sense of trust in the partnership. He said javelin throwing depends on many small components, from the run-up to the angle of release, a process he compared to the layered craft of watchmaking. He also said he has worn the Seamaster Aqua Terra at major moments, including the Paris Games.

Consistency and heritage in golf

Migliozzi said his relationship with OMEGA is built on friendship and on a personal connection to the brand's support. He tied the sport's fine margins to watchmaking, arguing that consistency is the central demand of precision in golf. He also pointed to the OMEGA European Masters in Crans-Montana, which he described as the oldest golf tournament in Europe played on the same course each year.

  • Chopra stresses timing and component-level control in athletics.
  • Migliozzi emphasises repeatable striking and rhythm in golf.
  • Both present OMEGA's heritage as a source of motivation rather than a commercial detail.
